A favorite blog of mine, DO THE MATH (from The Bad Plus), has a great post up about a poem made entirely of anagrams of Ornette Coleman’s name.

I’ve decided to follow suit. Ladies and gentlemen: Katrina.

 A rank, it
ran a kit.
Art, ink, a
Kant air.

Anti ark
air tank:
akin tar,
akin art,
akin rat,
it an ark?

A knit Ra
ark, nit, a
tank: air
an irk at
a rink at
a tin ark.

An finally, welcome to my blog.  What what spring break.

There are several albums that I can’t get enough of right now.

No. 1: Thom Yorke’s The Eraser. Thanks, Nick. I’ve listened to it straight through probably 10 times in twenty-four hours.
No. 2: Sondre Lerche’s Phantom Punch. And, for that matter, Don’t Be Shallow, and really, any of his albums.
No. 3: Robbie William’s Millennium. I listened to it the first time around…the millennium, and it was fun then, but now it’s still a really good album, except for the title track. It got played out and I still can’t stand it.
No. 4: Jon Brion’s Meaningless. I love anything that he does, but his solo album is of course the best, because it’s more more-him and less less-him. There’s no Beck singing a Jon Brion song, for instance. …Though more of that wouldn’t be half bad.
No. 5: Bob Dylan, especially The Basement Tapes with The Band. No reason needed.
No. 6: The Three EPs by The Beta Band. Speaking of Beck, his more chill yet still not down stuff sounds reminiscent of The Beta Band. It’s like Sea Change but it doesn’t drag you down.

Day one of probably not many…?

This is another attempt at blogging for myself.  I used to have a blog that I maintained very well and very regularly, and then several others that I didn’t take care of either.  However, lately, I’ve been reading so many blogs that I guess I feel the need to add to the fray.

WordPress titled this “Hello World” for me but I couldn’t handle it.
